Kantjil and De Tijger Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is known for its Indonesian food, since Indonesia was once a Dutch colony. We passed by Kantjil and de Tijger (the Mouse Deer and the Tiger) and decided to come back for dinner later that day. It was great (and a TON of food). Yelp review here.

World Cup decorations in Amsterdam

Football fever was in the air due to the World Cup, and the decor of outdoor bars reflected it.

Fries/chips from Vleminckx Fries in Amsterdam

I liked Vleminckx Fries more than Chipsy King's.

Sign at Hannekes Boom in Amsterdam

There was a Netherlands World Cup game on while we were in town, so we asked our tour guide for a recommendation on where to watch it. He recommended Hannekes Boom, which was a wonderful choice. It was basically an outdoor beer garden on the water (people pulled up on boats to watch the game). Yelp review here.
